Marcel van Meesche has a degree in economics and foreign trade and a degree in eco-counselling since 1998. Marcel founding associate of Eco-counselling Enterprise. He has worked on several projects around the implementation of environmental management systems in the public sector (at local level and federal level), the private sector (catering, agri-food, etc.) and the social economy sector. He is also responsible to organise high level trainings and capacity building on sustainable development for civil servants (on local agenda 21, sustainable public procurement, EMS for local authorities, sustainable management for industrial estates, etc.). Marcel has also worked on the development of sustainable development strategies at regional, national or European level (green public procurement, EMS and eco-labelling for the tourism sector, EMAS/ISO14001 easy and Ecomapping, etc.). He is also the financial administrator of the international NGO European Partner for the Environment. Marcel is member of the board of ABECE, the belgian association of eco-counsellors and vice-president of the Eco-Counselling Europe, the federation of national eco-counselling associations. He recently founded 21 Solutions ltd, a consulting company active in green building initiatives and sustainable development at local level (sustainable neighbourghoods, local Agenda 21, etc). |
